fall time 2011

I love the fall, the air is fresher and the smell of the leaves,,,,,ahhhhhhh. I ride my trails and carry my camera whereever I go, cause I never know what might be around the corner- like this shot above! Beautiful.

sometimes I get lucky and get really close to the deer, this one looked surprised to see me, so I took a shot really fast and she took off ever faster,,,so cute!

I got this shot off the river,,,,lovely. This is what fills my soul.

I hope you enjoyed my photos,,,I do sell prints of these if you wish to order some, send me a comment and your email address along with the size you wish. I can print up to 16 x 20"!
Have a blessed day,,,,till next time,,,,,,,,,,,,,,J~lo the artist

end of summer heat

I went riding early, thinking that it would be cooler to do so. Not really, I really "got my sweat on" riding the trails, so steamy and humid, I feel as tho I am in New Orleans!
I dont mind sweating, just to breathe without the humidity would be easier! LOL
I did take rest breaks in various parks,,,and watched the ducks "ducking"!

It was a good ride and I didnt get back home till early afternoon.
I hope to get some long rides in before school starts here next week, I will miss riding for sure.

philanthropy and the artist

over the past 4 yrs or more,,I have either made art for charitys to sell or donated my art for charity to sell. I have probably donated over 30 pieces of art so far.
This week Forgotten Harvest benefits from 2 of my artworks,,,they are to get two pieces donated for their upcoming fundraiser this fall! YEAH for them and for me too! Cause when I give I always feel good to know that someone out there is benefitting from my donations as well as someone else is loving my work enough to spend their money on it to buy it! The two pieces depicted below are the ones being donated!

I have said before in the past,,,you have to GIVE to GET,,,,,I know my giving nature will come back to me in 10 fold someday,,,,so for now,,,I am the giver, always helping others and one day when I need help I know I will receive it.
Everyone have a terrific day and remember,,,,,we are all one life and one love and one heart- help another in need today for someday that person may be YOU!!

camping and storms

my son and I went camping this week, we arrived tues, set up camp and went swimming. That night after retiring, around 11pm wind roared into camp- it was so windy I had to stand outside in the wind and rain trying in vain to hold down my gazebo. It was fruitless as it busted in all the corner pieces and Trevor and I had to go out in the wind to take it apart, saving the tarp from damage. Fun huh? All night the wind grabbed our tents and tried to pull them apart, I was petrified and so was Trevor. I kept praying all night for the Creator to please stop the wind and rain, but he didnt listen to me.
It was still windy in the morning after I woke from a fitful sleep. But at least the rain stopped,,for the moment. We had breakfast and took off to Canada to hang out there for the day. It was fun and we explored a bit to the parks (see above pic)
after spending most of the day, we returned to camp and went swimming again. As I was making dinner I noticed cloudings rolling in, and heard thunder. It started to rain just when we finished dishes and we went into the tents to wait it out. The ranger came around telling everyone there were severe thunderstorms comeing in and a tornado watch!! Trev and I decided not to wait around and tore camp down quick and took off not caring about whether things were put away neat, we just wanted to get out.
All the way home the storm followed us to the east- very scary to see near tornados around us.
this is one of the pics I took, it looks pretty but it was very dangerous. The storm hit where I live shortly after we got back, one of the transfomers blew out and we lost power for a few seconds, thank god that was all.
I felt very sad that our vacation was ruined. I hope next yr we can go again and have a good time like we did the last few times we went.

todays ride

Today was definitely a green day for me. It was so much cooler for riding I decided to try to do a long ride. I ended up going 23 miles total and rode out to Romeo! I had a few stops on the way out and met some really nice people too. I love doing this,,,if I could make a living at it, now then I would be on to something.

my first blog and post!

Hello all
welcome to my very first blog and very first post!
I am not sure what I am going to do with this blog,,not even sure what "blog" means! LOL
But I guess its all a learning experience. I am thinking this is like a journal or diary, like I used to have when I was a teen telling all about my teen angst and lost and found "loves"! Don't worry I wont post THAT kind of stuff there, at least not right off! Kidding!!
I fashion myself as being some kind of a athlete, I love to ride my rails to trails each day weather permitting and post videos of my doing so on my face book page. I find it a "balm" for my soul in this hurry up and get no where fast world to be out in nature, breathing in clean fresh air and watching the various animals and birds that make the trail woods their home. I take plenty of pictures too, those are on my photolocher web site if you wish to view and perhaps purchase some to make your own.
Here is one of my videos; please take a look and let me know what you think!

Ok this is all the blogging for today,,have a blessed wonder filled day and come back to read my next post!
