2013 is almost over,,,,

wow I cannot believe this year is pretty much over. Christmas is soon, then New Years...and on to a new year.
I had a interesting year,,,did lots of photography, and started a new line of jewelry called "Lake MI ~unsalted" and the reason why I call it this is the main pieces are shells and sea glass found on the shores of Lake Michigan!!!
Ive sold several pieces and even sold 4 to a woman who lives in Norway! So I have a international following. I think that is pretty neat.
I mostly make Pendents,,which have their own name,,,they are called INDIE-pendents. This name came to me while driving to work one day. I think its pretty appropriate being INDIE means independent (without support of others) and the pendents are,,,,well pendents.
Plus it has another meaning,,,I hope to gain MY independents thru selling my INDIE-pendents! Get it??
So if you want to see what I am talking about, go to my facebook artist page, like it, and peruse the albums. I take pay pal or official postal money orders for payment. The ship cost is yours BUT I use the least expensive shipping I can.
I hope to see some orders soon,,,feel free to pass my URL to other interested people, after all this is how us artists get known,,word of mouth.
Thanks,,until another time take care.

moving in another direction

this blog started out to be abt my artist/athletes self. But I feel I need to move in another direction. Not sure where I will go with this, perhaps start from day one,,,of my life, my memories of how things were when I was young.  I do feel I need to work backwards to move forwards though.
Me, smiling as I was in nature,,,the one place I truly feel at home and happy.

realizing my purpose

last night, as a stood in Lake Michigan, while the waves were crashing around my legs threatening pull me down into the tepid warm water, wetting the lower part of my shorts, I tightened my hold on my camara as I tried to steady myself to take the shots I took (see my artist FB page for all my digital artistry www.facebook.com/jlotheartist), I realized that THIS was what truely makes me happy. Being outdoors, being in the Creators environment, finding the beauty and taking that shot, that one single moment in time, that moment that will never ever be again,,,,,That is what makes me so happy I could cry. Now the trick is finding a way to do this and get paid enormous amounts of money so I can travel, and keep taking shots of natural beauty around the globe.feeling great.

move to the art coast of michigan,,,,,,

Hello all,
again I been lapse in writing in this blog,,,life gets so darn crazy busy. Well, I digress.
I have moved to the west coast in hopes of getting my art out there and sold. I now live in a artsy town of Saugatuck.
I was in for a shock when I moved here,,little did I know about lake effect snow,,,I soon found out that it snows nearly EVERY SINGLE DAY here! I like snow, you all know me, the sporting person who plays in all weather,,,but everyday? Wow!
I rallied after realizing there was nothing I could do about this happening short of moving again. I found I could hike in the snow,,,quite peaceful; as well as cross country ski (did that a lot).
The other thing I found hard to deal with was the isolation. I moved up here not knowing a soul. No close by relatives or any friends. In mid winter there was nothing much social to do as the town I moved to isnt a winter town,,,and most businesses were closed for the winter,,,pretty dead around here really. Fortunately I found a "home" in a local spiritual center; Spirit Space.
When I went there the first time, I was apprehensive but soon found my fears were unwarrented. I have felt very comfortable here in this place,,,the people are kind and warm to me and make me feel at home. I been attending 2 times a week since!
Other fun things I been up to are getting my artwork in a gallery downtown; in hopes of selling it this summer during the tourist season. I also got a PT job to be trained as a INN KEEPER! Ive never done this in my life,,,but am pretty sure I can excel at it, as I am server at heart.
I also started a new jewelry line, made of beach glass and mother of pearl shells.(see image  below) If you "like" my artist page www.facebook.com/jlotheartist you can see these pieces as well as my digital artistry that I continue to do. I hope to post more fun things as I get to know my new home town soon! Take care you all,,,,,,,j~lo the artist
